Our Installation Process & Quality Standards
When you leave your car, 4x4 or boat with me, you’re trusting more than just a “stereo install”. This is exactly how I work at Garage Audio so you know what you’re paying for and why it lasts.
- • Specialist tools: RTAs, distortion meters, phase testers, multimeters
- • Lifetime installation warranty on my labour
- • Careful, clean work on every vehicle – no shortcuts
What you’ll find on this page
Why this matters
Most of the work I do is hidden behind trim panels and under carpets. This page pulls the curtain back so you can see the difference between a quick fit and a proper installation.
I use this same process on everything from basic headunit swaps to full systems, dash cams, alarms, dual batteries and 4x4 accessories.
Who this is for & what you can expect
If you’re driving a 4x4, daily driver or weekend toy and you care about how it’s treated, this page is for you. I work with a lot of D-MAX, Hilux, LandCruiser, Prado, Patrol, Navara and Colorado owners who want their gear installed properly, not just “thrown in”.
In plain English, here’s what you can expect from me at Garage Audio in Morayfield:
- I treat every vehicle like it’s my own – from trim removal to final clean-up.
- I use specialist tools (RTAs, distortion meters, phase testers, multimeters) to set your system up properly.
- I only install new, quality gear from brands I trust – Morel, Eton, JL Audio, Sony, MTX, iRoad, Finevue and more.
- I back my work with a lifetime installation warranty and fix issues as quickly as possible if anything isn’t right.
Typical customer
• 30–50 year old bloke • 4x4, daily driver or boat • Wants quality gear and a clean, reliable install
If that sounds like you, you’re in the right place.
How I look after your vehicle
Most of the work I do is hidden, but how I treat your vehicle while it’s with me is just as important as the gear I’m installing.
Protection from the moment it rolls in
- Seat covers, towels and mats to protect paint, plastics and upholstery.
- Proper panel/pry tools – not screwdrivers that gouge and scratch trims.
Careful, methodical disassembly
- Trims, door cards and consoles are removed slowly so clips don’t snap.
- Hardware is kept organised so everything goes back together tight and rattle-free.
Secure storage while I work
- Your vehicle stays at my Morayfield workshop – I don’t offer mobile installs.
- If it’s here overnight, it’s locked inside, with external cameras monitoring the premises.
How I install and wire your gear
This is where the difference between a quick “fit” and a proper installation really shows up. Whether it’s a headunit, full system, dash cam, alarm, UHF, dual battery or lights, the approach is the same: clean, safe and built to last.
Proper electrical practices, not shortcuts
- Connections are soldered and insulated properly – not cheap crimp connectors that loosen over time.
- I use a multimeter and power probe to confirm power, ground and signal paths before finalising anything.
- Wiring is routed away from sharp edges and moving parts, and secured to avoid rattles and wear.
Vehicle-specific solutions
- For common vehicles like D-MAX, Hilux, LandCruiser, Prado, Patrol, Navara and Colorado, I know the factory quirks.
- I use proper integration modules and harnesses where needed, instead of hacking into factory looms.
Quality components from trusted brands
I work with brands like Morel, Eton, JL Audio, Sony, MTX, ESB, Zapco, iRoad, Finevue, Zeroflex, Ultravision, Command, Mothers and more. Gear is chosen based on sound quality, reliability and value – not just what’s cheapest.
